Our first UK volunteer

Ed Major arrived in Managua just in time to enjoy mango and avocado season and to volunteer with EEP and Juntos Contigo.

A recent Bristol Graduate Ed decided to give something back before starting his job. Ed is a true EEP superstar, getting started straight away Ed took over the gardening, recycled art and environmental education lessons for children and youth of the la Chureca community.

On his first day at JCT Ed said ‘ I soon realised I needed to throw away all conventional teaching methods, and just level with the children and start again by seeing what is important and relevant to them to learn so they can understand what environment means.’

Ed carried a rugby ball across the Atlantic to teach the students the wonderful game...Ed will be in Nicaragua for 5 weeks volunteering with EEP. Stay tuned for Ed’s impressions and volunteer experience story.
