Earth Education Project: London for Nicaragua : EEP's first London fundraiser event

Thursday March 18th 2010 the Earth Education Project held our 1st Fundraising Event in London.

A night of salsa, smiles and support.

At London’s Mare Moto Club, EEP supporters enjoyed delicious Nicaraguan cocktails, learnt more about our work and received a fabulous salsa lesson from Liz Jones Solano. Professional photographer Giorgia Bertazzi captured this special night.

Our Brazilian DJ got those dancing shoes moving to salsa, samba, mambo, reggueton, throughout the evening. The raffle was a huge succes - prizes included a facial at Estee Lauder worth £50 and a Meal Voucher for top Italian restaurant Lucio’s.

What We Do

The Earth Education Project is based in Nicaragua, in the La Chureca community- the capital's municipal trash dump. Working with families who depend on municipal trash for their income, the Earth Education Project offers a practical recycling and environmental course for students of all ages. Classes, based in the Juntos Contigo centre, cover topics from renewable energy resources to self-sufficent gardening. The Pachamama Workshop for women, shows in a series of courses, how to recycle and produce paper and will establish within a year, a profitable business that will in future provide the community with alternative incomes.
